For Now And Forever

In another millennia
In a strange and distant
Place, I was born
An Aged One.

From my first breath
The battle joined,
My hard fought war
To speak my truth.

They held me down
And tied me up.
With doubt and fear
They stole my voice.

The web was woven
The story told,
Of love gone lost
Abandoned and alone.

Yet deep inside
There burned a flame
Of ancient wisdom
Bred in the bone.

Under my cloak
Gleams hidden armor
Forged with grief and
Burnished with compassion.

Those met upon the road
Think me strange,
But little do they know
The luminous truth.

For I am the warrior
Holding love and fear
In perfect balance upon
The point of my sword.

Though my face
Be hidden by
Shadows more deeply
Felt than seen,

My heart blazes
Brightly, demanding
The love that is
Our birthright.

Look into my eyes
And know, you
Are not alone
On this moonlit night

We walk together
Toward that uncertain
But glorious dawn
So patiently awaiting us.

My old bones, weary
From so many centuries
Of suffering, rejoice still
In your company

If knowledge is power
Then wisdom is grace
And the waters of grief
Wash clean the dark wounds.

Join me now
Where I live, in the arms
Of the beloved
For now and forever.
